Magnificently restored by locals, the 1907 German-built 15 cm Krupp cannon is one of only two of its type in Australia (with the second housed in the Australian War Memorial in Canberra).

Built as a prototype, the Krupp Howitzer (serial #20) features rear-mounted trunnions, an inverted barrel and recoil assembly.

Captured by Australian troops during World War I battle in Palestine, the cannon was presented to Jamestown in 1920, in recognition of the supreme sacrifice of so many of its residents during the Great War.
